The Aeonic project, developed over many years, is inspired by the unique biosphere of Coigach and Assynt in the far Northwest Highlands of Scotland, a distinctive wild and remote realm that discloses aeonic evolutionary, climactic and elemental narratives.

Here, the 3 spheres of Earth’s biospheric habitats of the atmosphere, the hydrosphere & the lithosphere -air, water, land- and their ecological interactions and evidence of the evolutionary timespans, can be explored and experienced in all their elemental glory.

This region is also one of the few remaining truly ‘Dark Sky’ realms of Europe.

Aeonic Installation / Exhibition

The Aeonic exhibition project, with invited artist Brian D. Hodgson, was presented in ‘prototype’ in its first venue in June 2023 at An Talla Solais Gallery Ullapool, a vibrant visual arts hub of the NW Highland region central to the unique territory within which the work evolved.

The idea for a collaborative installation of the 2 artists work was founded in discovering shared performative and immersive engagement with this this distinctive environment over many years, causing them to explore the Earth’s aeonic evolutionary timespan in very different media.
